Now, Zeta, Zeutschel’s multiple award-winning overhead scanner, brings all the advantages of “scanning from above” into the modern office. It has never been so easy, efficient and eco-friendly to digitally copy pages from books, files or balance sheets. The range of software products and accompanying services under the “OSCAR” umbrella brand is extensive and supports libraries and archives in building up digital collections in the internet and in the realisation of digital services. All Zeutschel products are “Made in Germany”, meaning it, basically, is built to last featuring 100% up-time.

Available now is the new range 12002 Series A2 scanners

The Zeutschel OS 12002 Advanced Plus raises workflow automation in book scanner use to yet a new level. Consequently, it is an interesting alternative to robotic book scanners for many applications in mass digitisation and is also much more cost-effective”, says Jörg Vogler, Managing Director of Zeutschel GmbH.

Compared to the previous OS 12000 model, the new Zeutschel book scanner has a higher picture resolution of 400 ppi as well as a Gig E-interface for fast data transmission. It displays a high degree of flexibility in processing documents. Maximum book thickness under glass is 150 mm and 200 mm without glass.

Higher throughput, more effective light

Zeutschel’s new A2 scanner family delivers images with the highest possible resolution (up to 600 dpi), ensures a high throughput and also has easy start-up and operation. In addition, the three models can be quickly moved to different locations for greater flexibility.

“Users gave us the following wish list: The new scanner must be compact, quick to set-up in different locations and be immediately ready for use via ‘plug-n-play’. It must be easy to use and for Zeutschel as a matter of course: It must combine a high degree of efficiency with superb image quality.”
Jörg Vogler, President of Zeutschel

The OS 12002 Advanced Plus boasts more scans per day with optimal ergonomics. This is achieved by ergonomic placement on custom scanner tables, patented book cradle and motor-driven operations, enabling an automatic operating mode and gentle treatment of the original documents.

The Advanced Plus book cradle also comes equipped with a self-opening glass plate, the book plate lowers automatically and contact pressure can also be electronically set to any of the five levels.
The scanner table is also user-friendly with plenty of leg room and areas to the left and right of the table which can be used to store books and also provide extra space for documents which are larger than the scan area.
Quality of digital images is key to further productive processing. In addition to the premium-quality line sensor image capture system, the new Zeutschel book scanner also features the next generation in LED lighting systems. As a result, there are a number of advantages for the user and the environment.

Thanks to the better spread of light and the light intensity, documents are illuminated better which has a positive impact on quality, particularly in cases of colour-fast scans.
Since LEDs lights do not require the usual warm-up phase, the scanner is ready to use sooner. LEDs are highly efficient, leading to lower energy consumption and they also have a long operating life.
